SANDBLASTING

Sandblasted glass, often referred to as ‘frosted glass,’ is created by subjecting a clear sheet of glass to sandblasting. This process renders the glass translucent and effectively blurs images. This imparts a sense of privacy while still allowing the transmission of light. We offer the option to sandblast entire panels or create borders and designs through this technique.

Common applications for sandblasted glass include:

  • Fanlights, doors, mirrors, shelves, and screens.
  • Balustrades and bolted glass assemblies.
  • Glass doors, shower doors, partitions, and glass shopfronts.

We can sandblast onto all thicknesses and most types of glass, including mirror, float, laminated, toughened, heat-soaked, and Insulated Glass Units (IGUs). Following the sandblasting process, a protective coating of Ritec Clearshield® is applied, enhancing the glass’s durability and longevity.
